You already know more of the other Slavic languages than you think.

Slovo teaches each of five Slavic languages through the one you know — or through English — by way of Proto-Slavic, the language they all grew from. See which words are shared, which only look shared, and the sound laws that let you guess the rest.

Of the 420 words in Slovo, 21% are cognates between English and Polish.

*golvaголова́RUголова́UKgłowaPLhlavaCSglavaBCS

Proto-Slavic *golva 'head' became голова in Russian and Ukrainian, głowa in Polish, hlava in Czech and glava in BCS. Two regular changes explain all of it: pleophony vs liquid metathesis, and g → h.
